ABOUT ME
Engr. Abubakar Garba was born and raised in Kaduna, Nigeria – attended the famous Kaduna Capital School, established since 1957, and Essence International School for his primary and secondary school education respectively. Essence International School is also a well-known school in Northern Nigeria for its high standard of American-style education and for many years, since it was founded in 1982, Essence International School has produced great talents such as medical doctors, engineers, lawyers, architects, professors, economists, politicians, musicians and some of the best basketball players in the country – he got a fantastic and formative education there.
After high school, he matriculated to the renowned Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria; where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree, BEng (Hons) Electrical Engineering. After undertaking the compulsory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme, he proceeded for MSc Information Systems Management at Glasgow Caledonian University, Scotland. Because of his love for education, Engr. Garba enrolled in another postgraduate programme, an Executive-MBA Communications Management (MCM) at Buckinghamshire University, England.

Engr. Garba’s hobbies and interests include computers, travelling, charity, sports, food (particularly Moroccan) and supporting his football team, Chelsea FC. He plays table-tennis and squash.
His favourite book is the Holy Quran and one of his favourite statementsis from the Hadith –
“None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself”
and because of that and his interest also, in charity, himself and his wife co-founded a non-profit called “The Thrive Initiative for the Less Privileged” which main purpose was to give back to the community, particularly to the less privileged.
